So many entrepreneurs are so quick to start implementing the best marketing strategies, have the best marketing ideas, and launch the best marketing campaigns they have in mind. But, they really have no idea who their clients are. They want the dream client, we all do, but don't do their research of who they are. This is vitally important when using your best marketing tactics. Otherwise you are going to waste a lot of marketing dollars.
Before you start with your best marketing strategies …you need to know, Who, What, Where about your potential clients.
- Who is your dream client?
- What do they look like?
- What are the passionate about?
- What are their goals, dreams, and desires?
Who is your dream client?
Who do you want to work with? Really, you get to choose who you want to work with. Don't just throw a net out and grab everyone who comes into the net. I know when you are first starting you are thinking, “I need clients and will work with anyone”. Please take my advice and don't have this attitude. Because it will bite you in the long run or you will just learn the hard way. Like one of my mentors mentioned to me years ago, “Don't let the inmates run the asylum”
Go to Google and type in a few characteristics of the type of people you want to work with.
- Has big dreams
- Has goals
- Wants time freedom
- Is teachable
- Wants a better life
O.K., these are pretty simple but now let's really dig in.
- Where do they shop?
- What kind of car do they drive?
- What's their favorite T.V. show?
- How do they like to spend their time?
- Where do they like to travel?
- What kind of restaurants do the visit?
Where can you find your dream clients?
You need to do some research and see where these people are hanging out. Are they on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Google+, etc. What do they read? What are some of their interests (skydiving, snowboarding, sailing, etc).
What are your best marketing strategies to attract them?
O.K., you found your perfect client…now how do you attract them and what marketing ideas do you have to attract them? Do you want to use a physical product like a book, CD, DVD, or maybe a video or audio. Give these potential clients some valuable content to attract them to you and invite them into your world.
Make sure to lead with some kind of Valued Content that can help them without having to sell them something. Really think about THEIR NEEDS and not yours. Build a relationship, a friendship, and they will follow you everywhere. Especially if you help them solve a problem.
Once you do this exercise, you will have a better understanding of who your dream client is and then you'll can use your best marketing strategies to attract them to you.
